Turtle Love…
After visiting the Brisbane museum and witnessing baby turtles hatch from their eggs I was curious to explore the inner story of these special creature’s. I discovered the spirit wisdom of the harmonious turtle is deeply entwined with our own.
Turtles are connected to the Sacred Feminine, to our Mother Earth, to the element of water, to flow, to fluidity, they embody profound messages for us all.
This reptile is 215 million years old, making it the oldest of all reptiles on the planet. Turtles are slow, steady, strong and wise and communicate using subsonic sound the same way as elephants do.
Turtles carry their shell and home on their back, their shell a radiating logarithmic pattern which echoes growth and life in circular lifelines. The intricate patterning of a shells artwork carries awareness to non-linear time and universal order.
Turtles carry themselves close to the earth connected, grounded and in harmony with all of creation. They live a long and slow existence, in the wild known to live over 125 years. A female turtle reaches fertility and the ability to reproduce once 30 years of age.
The mother turtle as protector of her children ensues their safety on the land before they make their way back to the water where they were created. The turtle’s deep connection to both land and water melds these two energies to become whole again.
Mother turtles instinctively bury their eggs deep within the safety and warmth of the earth. For a new life to be born strong and healthy there is a necessity for incubation, for a time within the dark. There is mystery in concealment. Our dreams and aspirations also benefit from an inward time of protection and secrecy.
Turtles once hatched must take their very first vulnerable journey to the water. Once submerged they intuitively surrender and allow the ebb and flow of the current to carry them along. Receptivity and softness carries a power to magnetise what we are seeking, it draws life toward us in a magical way.
In honour of the precious Turtle – life is not a race but a beautiful adventure, we all travel the long road… life and destinies weave and unravel in an endless process of arrival. There are times for striving and dynamic movement and times where we must let go and surrender to the power of the universe. We are each exactly where we need to be, trust in your journey and enjoy your unique destiny. Water sustains all life; the cycles of the moon and the flow of the tides offer great wisdom. Earth is our home as well as home to all the animals, plants, stones, trees and oceans of the world. Love the natural world and everything in it, take gentle steps…
